About Braemar
Braemar can be found in the heart of Royal Deeside. It is surrounded by beautiful scenery. It is the ideal centre for walking, climbing, cycling, golfing, fishing, shooting, skiing and sight seeing. Braemar has strong royal connections with the Royal Family holidaying at the nearby Balmoral Estate. Braemar also hosts the annual Braemar Highland Games on the first Saturday of September each year. This is attended each year by members of the Royal family who watch the proceedings from the famous “Royal Box”. The decorating of the box with heather ropes starts as early as the first week of August and has been done by Chris and his father Sam for many years. Sam has been making heather ropes for over forty years.

Braemar also boasts an 18 hole golf course in beautiful surroundings. Children are very welcome with membership for the year at Braemar Golf Club a very competitive £30 per annum. Cycle hire is also available from Cycle Highlands.
